Disability Support Professional - Role Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role - Essential.

• Minimum Certificate 4 in Mental Health, Individual Support, Community Services - Essential; tertiary qualifications in Psychology/Counselling, Psychiatric Nursing, or related fields preferred.

• Suicide Intervention & Harm Minimisation training preferred.

• Alcohol & Other Drugs training or experience preferred.

• Proficient understanding of the NDIS framework.

• Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

• Expertise in managing varied diagnosis and providing tailored support.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse individuals.

• Strong empathetic and patient approach, with a focus on participant-centred practices.

• Strong professional boundaries. 

• Skilled in complex problem-solving and informed decision-making.

• Proficiency in detailed record-keeping and reporting.

• Commitment to ongoing professional learning in mental health and disability support.
